After more than thirty years working as a visual artist, a stream of poetic texts emerged during a period of acute and prolonged stillness which I call the ‘Summit of Silence’. Since early 2023, a shift in perception has occurred. Thinking was minimal; at night, words began to flow in rhyme with a clear cadence. Three years later, these texts now arise both at night and during the day: Night Notes and Day Dreams.

 

I record as precisely as possible what I hear internally. The texts range from quiet nature poetry to clear descriptions of events and shifts in the world. I am not a native speaker and had no prior focus on writing or poetry. The often archaic language is not edited, to remain close to the original source and form.

The texts arise mainly in English, but also in Dutch. I do not translate them, to stay close to the received input. What first felt unfamiliar has become a daily practice. The process is accompanied by a consistent nourishing energy, as well as a sense of beauty and depth that exceeds my personal frame of reference. I now regard this as a form of calling. The material itself asks to be shared.

The archive currently exceeds 1.700 A4 pages (April 2026), with near-daily continuity. Archiving has become a regular discipline.Over time, my visual work and the Notes have become intuitively intertwined.

​

This website is merely the first visible emergence of a much larger continent, most of which still remains beneath the surface. Much of its terrain remains unexplored, and perhaps calls for more than one explorer to map.

​

My wish is that these Night Notes and Day Dreams may invite a wider view of what we take to be reality, and of what we are as consciousness, in these challenging times we share with the Earth.
