The Lightness of a Dragonfly

does not reveal the sharpness by

which this etheric being

sets his eyes on what he’s seeing,

and subsequently conquers or banishes

every creature; seemingly diminishes

any possible future predator.

Ruling his kingdom as a dictator

who mercilessly kills all opposition,

and does not consider the ambition

to live peacefully side by side.

So only remains; flight or fight.

Her perfect way to fly and dive,

so in her own range stays only alive

which is permitted or accepted,

or in her sovereign domain fully adapted.

May the lesson of this creature be,

hold on your borders; but do see

and discern straight from the heart,

what is a mutual benefit, what better stays apart.
